Ilka studied Biopharmakology and did her PhD in human genetics on mitochondrial disorders in Greifswald (DE) . She leads the functional proteomics group that serves as mass spectrometry unit for SFB-TRR267, FOR 5046, mitoNET and other local and international scientific partners.  Her scientific interests comprise dynamics and stability of mitochondrial protein complexes in health and disease.
